Page 8 – Replace first paragraph with: “Bernoulli showed that when air (or a fluid) is forced to move at different speeds across the curved upper and flat lower surfaces of a wing it causes the pressure on the lower and upper surfaces to be different. When a bird or plane moves forward the air has to move faster over the upper curved than the lower flat surface. This means that more, or a larger volume of, air passes over the upper than the lower surface. The net result is that the pressure on the lower surface becomes greater than that on the upper surface providing a force to lift the bird or plane into the air.”
