You can help the NSRC's mission
Your gift will help maintain science education as a high national priority. It represents a farsighted investment in America’s future.

Give a Gift
All unrestricted gifts to the NSRC—in any amount—will be deposited into the NSRC general endowment fund and recognized by the NSRC in its annual report.  These funds will support overall NSRC operations.

Become an Ambassadors Circle Member
With a donation of $1,000 or more to NSRC general endowment, you will join the NSRC’s Ambassador’s Circle for the year or years in which your gift is made. Besides ensuring quality science education programs for children, you will receive additional benefits and recognition by the NSRC and the Smithsonian Institution.

As a member of the Ambassador’s Circle, you will join a dedicated cadre of individuals who are committed to increasing the visibility and understanding of the NSRC’s mission and activities.  You will also have the opportunity to join NSRC distinguished National Advisory Board Members and Staff for a behind-the-scenes tour followed by a reception and dinner at one of the Smithsonian Institution’s many fine museums. These events are held in conjunction with the semi-annual meetings of the Board, usually in May and November. Members may also choose to waive this benefit, thereby increasing the amount of their contribution and increasing the tax-deductible amount of their gift.

Membership Levels
Member ($1,000 to $1,999)
Gifts at this level entitle you to recognition as a member of the NSRC Ambassador’s Circle for the year or years in which the gift is made.

Leader ($2,000 or more)
Gifts at this level entitle you to recognition as an individual donor by the Smithsonian Institution in its annual report and as a member of the NSRC Ambassador’s Circle for the year or year in which the gift is made.

Contribute to NSRC Endowment Funds
Donors who wish to provide a major gift reflecting their deep commitment to the programs of the NSRC may contribute to one of three NSRC endowment funds.  New gifts to these funds are added to the principal of the endowment, helping the fund to grow and increase the income it provides each year to support NSRC programs.

NSRC endowment funds are invested in perpetuity by the Smithsonian Institution (SI), under policies established by its Board of Regents. Annual investment income is restricted to supporting programs of the NSRC.  The purposes of these funds are broadly defined to assure their perpetual relevance to the mission of the NSRC.

Named endowment funds may be established with a minimum gift of $50,000. These funds are invested by the SI, with the income restricted to supporting the specific purpose or purposes agreed upon by the donor and the SI/NSRC.

Planned Giving Options
Many donors provide for a gift to endowment through a bequest provision in their wills or living trusts. A planned gift to the NSRC provides an opportunity to support the NSRC’s work while also advancing your financial and estate-planning objectives.  A planned gift may include naming the NSRC as a beneficiary of a will, trust, retirement plan, or life insurance policy, or establishing a charitable gift annuity. Depending on the planned giving opportunity you choose, you will receive an  income-, gift-, or estate-tax deduction. The NSRC and SI staff will be pleased to provide additional information on how to make an endowment gift using one of these vehicles.
