Do your courses address the National Science Standards for teachers?

The PDC can help your district to address these standards. The PDC can ensure that your science teachers have a base of scientific knowledge and skills that enable them to:

  • Understand the nature of scientific inquiry and its central role in science
  • Use the skills and processes of scientific inquiry
  • Understand the fundamental concepts that underlie the major science disciplines
  • Be able to make conceptual connections within and across science disciplines, as well as with mathematics, technology, and other content areas

Do I have to be an STC/MS user to benefit from your courses?

Although our focus is currently on the STC/MS curriculum, the principles and content of the Inquiry and Probeware workshops would apply to other inquiry science programs.

How can I qualify to be an NSRC trainer?

To become a certified NSRC trainer for a specific course, you must

  • Have previous classroom or professional development experience with STC/MS
  • Participate in a training workshop for that course, which is conducted by a certified trainer
  • Deliver the course at least once to a group of educators and receive favorable evaluations from the participants
